Synopsis: Dutch artist M. C. Escher is one of the world’s best known graphical artists. His impossible optical illusions and metamorphoses are eye catching and unique. This documentary tells his own narrated story and has contributions by his direct family and others including Graham Nash from Crosby Stills Nash & Young. The film uses fascinating animations to bring his graphics to life. His work has appeared on the covers of many books and albums. Directed by Robin Lutz it won the Dutch Crystal Film award for documentary films in 2018. Narrated by Stephen Fry. First time shown in Australia to accompany the current exhibition of Escher’s work at the NGV.
